Her ongoing passion for physician wellness was amplified by the unexpected death by suicide of her younger sister, Dr Gretchen Butler in March 2021. She is using her voice to raise awareness about the high risk of suicide in medicine, in particular for women. She speaks out on the need to implement effective solutions to burnout in medicine and empowers physicians to take care of their needs and mental health through coaching and self-compassion.
She is a keynote speaker on the topics of physician burnout and suicide awareness and has a podcast dedicated to wellness topics for physician women. She is honored to be dedicated to the work of helping heal the healer.

Kimara GuStafson, MD
Kimara GuStafson, MD is a pediatrician with professional areas of interests that include the special health care needs of adoptive children and children who have experience in the foster care system, socio-emotional trauma impact on development, racial and cultural social identity development for trans-racially adoptive or foster care children, and racial discrimination among historically marginalized youth in the United States.
She helps physicians who are navigating the intersection of work and parenting, with the goal to best support and encourage the parent, child and whole family system. As her work continues to grow and evolve, she continues to be a life-long learning through the exploration of additional tools and methods to continue to best support, encourage and empower children and their families to ensure they can reach their fullest potential.
Additional passions include student and medical trainee mentorship, coaching and providing professional support to those around her.
