Meet Heather Awad, MD

To be a bit vulnerable with you—I’m a family doctor who coached people on healthy eating for decades. But in my late 40s, I thought my body was broken. I couldn't lose weight!

My thoughts were constantly obsessed with trying to eat right, but all the old ways of losing weight just didn’t work anymore. Eating less and moving more did nothing. I tried diets that made me feel sick—or worse—didn’t budge the number on the scale at all.

At one point, I worked super hard to lose weight with one of those app-based programs… and then bounced back to an even higher number. I was devastated. I truly believed I’d be stuck at an unhealthy weight for the rest of my life.

Then I figured—there had to be a specific answer for women in menopause.

I started researching how menopause hormone changes interact with our digestive hormones. Then I invested a month's salary into coaching. That coach helped me finally stop emotional and stress eating. Suddenly, it all became so simple—and the number on the scale started going down.

I lost 27 pounds, and I have no fear of regaining it.
